You Are Not Alone
Spend a little time. Get to know something about the people around you. The people in your street. In your city or town or village. The folks at work. The men and women you just see around.
Whoever they are, it’s always surprising how much you have in common with them.
All the pleasures and delights. Loves and passions. Fears and worries. Tears and laughs. The concerns and the doubts, certainties and beliefs.
If you spend some time hearing what people have to say, you find you’re not alone in the world, in your world. And that’s good to know. It improves all aspects of life.

I’ve Heard People Say …
On this website I recount what I’ve heard people say. These are their thoughts. I offer them to you with minimal input from me.
Wrong?
Sometimes, I hear people with views that provoke an immediate, instinctive reaction in me.
But I’ll always try to listen before I judge. And I try to make sure I’ve understood what they mean, what they think. That’s before I think anything – good or bad – about what they’re saying.
And I try and remember to never condemn someone else’s view just because it’s different from mine. After all, both might be wrong.
Me?
I’m told I’m a good listener. I do think it’s good to listen.
I’ve lived in my town for a long time. I’m a local. I’m recognised. Up at the shops, in the cafes and pubs. Walking in the parks or out in the country nearby. People see me with my camera taking my snaps – that can make people want to chat. And just generally, people talk to me.
So, I’m a listener. It’s sort of poetic that I’m a naturally private person.
