(A friend says …)
“I can’t say anything new.
“Nor think anything new.
“Nor, really, do anything new. Not really new.
“We all know too much now. We – I mean us – humans.
“It’s all online now. Pictures, words, clips, sounds.
“What’s left … smells I suppose. Whoopee.
“And that’s about it.
“Online life. Digital life. Digitized life. Dehumanized life?
“Yeah, I know in the past, before digital, we were all doing the same things we do now. People are people the world over.
“The trouble is, we know what people are doing the world-over now. We didn’t back then. Ignorance, bliss and all that.
“The curse of communication, curse of knowledge.

“Give it a scrub-up for our little over-shared lives, our hugely over-connected worlds and for our short stretch of time.”
